Hope we don't slide down the table as a backlash to last night's result...

Big test for Bilic's motivational...man management and selection abilities...

But weren't we giving everything for the cup?
We keep pushing til it's over. Then see where we are. Just as long as we don't now take an Allardyce-esque slide...

It really depends if we VISUALISE winning

If we do that, we'll win every game

I can see us not winning another game.

I suppose Watford might roll over as they have a big game on the Sunday.

How many years will you use leicester as an arguement even though it's a freak one off? Like I say, this time of year the big boys step up, don't even bother arguing that.

We haven;t been able to step up when it really matters, not knocking them as it's been a good season, but that's the truth of the matter whether you want to accept it or not.

This season the teams in the CL play off league route were;

Rapid Vienna
Shakhtar
Valencia
Monaco
Lazio
Bayer Lev
Man Utd
Clube Brugge
Sporting
CSKA Moscow

On our day we would have the beating of half of those and if we didn't we'd end up in the Europa Groups anyway.

Not wanting 4th is mental

It took Man City a couple of seasons to adjust to Champions League football level - it's called PROGRESS

I want to qualify for Europe, so we:

1) have some momentum after a good season, for next season. A reason to push on.

2) buy some players like Maksimovic to have a squad seriously capable of challenging in Europe next season...

we have not lost in the league this season to Man City, Man Utd , Liverpool ,Arsenal and Chelsea ! why the fuck should we be afraid of Europe .

I really hope that I'm wrong but I just think that we'll fall away a bit now - which is typical of us.

I reckon we'll drop to 8th or something.

Of course, I'd certainly have been content with that before the start of the season but it will be a disappointing finish in the end for us.

Man U needed the ref to, er, "step up" at OT.

Re: Gung Ho for 4th place now both Mancs are distracted
Yeah well put PD.

I think last night was a decent reality check.

We are a very good side overall and one that is on the edge of starting to challenge consistently at the very top of the league. Key point though is we are on the edge and not quite there yet.

Once the dust settles I think we will all agree this is huge progress overall though. We are gonna finish between 4th and 7th, are playing much better football, have Slaven in charge and have the stadium move with all the long term benefits that will bring.

Most people just don't understand footballing mentality on here. The idiot IOC thought Manu and LVG were going to turn up lat last night becuase they had lost to Spurs, I had to put him right on that. Big clubs are big clubs for a reason, when at the business end of the season they step up, clubs like us don't.

Look at the last few results and goals conceded...we don't have big enough balls. You should accept the reality of the situation.
